Admission Requirements

  • Student must be four (4) years old for Pre-Kinder, five (5) years old for Kindergarten, and six years old (6) for First Grade by October 31 of the current year.
  • Evidence of custody agreements, termination of paternal or maternal relationships, or any other legal document that is considered relevant and necessary for the safety of the student.
  • A minimum of 2.50 cumulative average is required for new students from 2nd to 11th grade.
  • An admission test is required from Kindergarten to Eleventh grade.
  • It is required that the parents or guardian inform any aspect of physical, mental, emotional health, or any family situation that could affect the academic performance of the student or his/her security.

  5. Pediatric Health Certificate
  6. Immunization Certificate (PVAC-original form) (Law 25, September, 25, 1983)

  7. Vision Evaluation(by an Optometrist/Ophthalmologist)
  8. Hearing Evaluation (evaluation of a hearing screening by a medical doctor in Audiology)
  9. Behavior Certificate (by a teacher or director of the current school)
  10. Official school transcript from the previous school with a minimum 2.50 average in a sealed school envelope
  11. Official school transcript of the current year with the promoted grade in May with a minimum 2.50 average in a sealed school envelope
  12. Kindergarten Diploma (for students entering First Grade)
  13. Admission Test (Kinder – 11th)
  14. Psychometric Evaluation or other when considered necessary


  1. TAES will not accept admission forms without the required documents.
  2. The student will be in an academic-disciplinary provisional enrollment during the first year. At the end of the first semester, the student will be evaluated in order to continue enrolled in TAES.
  3. Every admission form will be evaluated following the Information & Student Handbook (MIRE).
  4. The parent or guardian and the student will receive the Information & Student Handbook. After reading and returning the signed certification at the beginning of the new academic year, you will ensure to comply with the norms (rules) and amendments, and attend the TAES’ meetings and activities.
  5. Thomas Alva Edison School is not a specialized school in special education. The school does NOT have a special education program or the resources required to address the needs of these students.
  6. Thomas Alva Edison School reserves the right to modify these guidelines.
  7. The enrollment and monthly payments are not transferable to any other student.
  8. The enrollment payment is not refundable except for the determination of TAES to cancel it; the initial $100 payment will not be reimbursed.

This document is a partial requirement for the candidates of new enrollment at Thomas Alva Edison School. It does not guarantee admissions to TAES. Any fraudulent information will be cause for immediate suspension of the admission process. Once the form and documents have been submitted, the student will be interviewed. We will notify the parent or guardian the decision of admittance or denial of the registration as soon as possible, so the appropriate arrangements can be made for the next academic year.
