Elementary School

Thomas Alva Edison School’s elementary level is composed of students from 1st to 6th grade. In this level English, Math and Science class is offered in English. In 1st and 4th grade students learn about the Puerto Rican culture in their Social Studies class, for this reason the course is offered in Spanish to honor the culture and traditions of Puerto Rico. In 5th and 6th grade the students learn about American History and World History, these courses are taught in English.

Our elementary school curriculum blends itself between different courses to foster the integral development of our students. All these components work in harmony to live out our philosophy, mission and values. Some of the elective courses are: music, art, health, values, technology and physical education.

During our Cardinals time in elementary school they can participate in different sport teams, including volleyball, basketball, soccer and track and field. These teams are part of National Leagues and have brought numerous championships to our school. Another school activity that our students can participate in our After School Program entails our Children Handbell Choir, Children Chamber Choir, Literary Club and Jr Student Council.

The elementary school curriculum also is reinforced by school field trips to museums, theatres, parks, monuments, and others. These types of activities provide our Cardinals with enriched academic experiences that reinforces our values, mission and philosophy.
