Thomas Alva Edison School’s secondary level is from 7th to 12th grade. We acknowledge that our Cardinals enter this level with a unique talent and different set of skills.
Our secondary level curriculum emphasizes analytical thinking, critical reading, writing, research, technology skills and math skills. Our highly experienced and dedicated teachers use a variety of methods to enhance the core curriculum, such as presentations of creative and research projects, conferences and lectures. Other activities include field experience such as field trips, laboratories and student directed activities.
During this level our Cardinals are enrolled in a Community Service class where they are prompted to create a social conscience as established by our school philosophy. In this course students can carry out community work deliberately organized and directed by our faculty.
In this level some of our elective courses include handbell choir, choir, music, physical education, art, health, and statistics. Fine Arts and values are also integrated into the basic courses.
Our Cardinals can also be enrolled in Advanced Placement courses that are accredited in the Universities of Puerto Rico and the United States.
